The launch of Plasmapen

After working with early plasma technologies and quickly recognising their limitations, Louise was approached by a specialist manufacturer in Berlin, Germany, who offered to develop a device tailored precisely to her requirements. Already an internationally recognised semi-permanent makeup artist with a loyal global following, she initially introduced her early devices under a different brand to test the market. Following their success, she proudly launched her first PlasmaPen Classic device and officially rebranded under the name PlasmaPen in 2017.

The launch of the Ultra device

Following the success of the Classic device, Louise advanced the technology with the launch of the PlasmaPen Ultra. This next-generation model introduced an additional energy setting designed to accelerate plasma delivery, reduce treatment times, and enhance performance for skin resurfacing and benign lesion removal. As fibroblasting gained rapid global traction, demand grew not only among aestheticians but also among medical professionals — including doctors and plastic surgeons — who adopted the technology to refine and “fine-tune” results in post-surgical protocols.

Introducing the ultimate Platinum Plasmapen device

By this point, plasma/fibroblasting treatments had taken the aesthetics world by storm. As the market became flooded with cheap, unsafe imitation devices that failed to deliver true plasma energy, professionals began demanding a trusted, high-performance solution. True to form—and determined to remain at the forefront of innovation—Louise Walsh broke new ground once again with the launch of her now globally renowned, unprecedented five-setting Platinum device.

Sleek, ergonomic, and still unmatched in design, the Platinum set a new industry benchmark. It quickly became the go-to choice for advanced practitioners who wanted not only a device they could rely on, but one that would allow them to deliver the very best in genuine plasma technology to their clients.

The birth of the CoolJet range

While attending a beauty expo in Singapore a few years earlier, Louise discovered emerging cold plasma technology — a modality she immediately recognised as the perfect complement to her now world-renowned PlasmaPen “hot” plasma devices. Unlike traditional fibroblasting, this new technology delivered a gentle, non-ablative plasma effect with zero downtime and no need for numbing. Designed to purify, calm, and revitalise the skin, it offered powerful sterilisation benefits while leaving the complexion visibly brighter and refreshed. This innovation led to the launch of the CoolJet Classic, marking a new era within the ever-expanding PlasmaPen portfolio.

The CoolJet Pro

Always committed to staying at the forefront of her competitors, Louise launched the Cooljet Pro in quick succession to the Cooljet Classic. The Pro featured a slightly larger silicone-grip handpiece with a 30% increase in energy output, as well as her innovative hair attachments and specially formulated growth-factor hair serum. This advanced combination opened an entirely new market opportunity for trichologists and the barbering industry alike.

Taking a giant leap

After discovering emerging technology that combined both warm and cold plasma modalities—but recognising that the devices currently available on the market lacked the quality, safety, and performance she demanded—Louise set out to completely reinvent the concept. Drawing on her extensive expertise in the plasma industry, she engineered the groundbreaking Fusion 8 device, fully safety-certified in three major countries. This innovative system delivered warm plasma, cold plasma, and ozone technology, elevating the plasma era to an entirely new level.

The Fusion 8’s eight unique modalities allowed it to treat the skin with the same gentle efficacy as the CoolJet while also offering the advanced rejuvenation benefits associated with PlasmaPen. Crucially, the addition of argon gas lowered the overall temperature of the generated plasma, making treatments suitable for all skin types with little to no downtime—a major leap forward in both safety and versatility.

The Fusion Glow

Following in quick succession after the Fusion 8 launch, the Fusion Glow was created specifically for clients who already owned a Cooljet device and didn’t require the full Fusion 8 system—particularly as its second handpiece offered similar functionality. More budget-friendly yet still highly effective, the Fusion Glow delivers the combined benefits of both warm and cold plasma technologies, making it an accessible upgrade without compromising on results.

A more budget friendly approach

Recognising that the Fusion 8 and Fusion Glow were out of reach budget-wise for a large portion of the industry—and determined to offer solutions for all budgets—Louise launched the Fusion Go towards the end of 2025.

Staying true to her signature professional, stylish aesthetic, the Fusion Go was created as a more accessible alternative without compromising on results. The key difference was its simplified design: the digital screen was removed to keep costs down, yet the device remained just as effective. It still delivered the same warm and cold plasma modalities as the Fusion Glow, making high-quality plasma technology attainable for many more practitioners across the global aesthetics market.
